Dorset Residents' Week

For several years now, the Visit Dorset local authority tourism partnership has run an annual, Dorset-wide ‘Residents’ Week’ promotion to raise the profile of local attractions to Dorset residents.

The aim of Dorset Residents’ Week is to encourage local people to visit local attractions, so that they might inform visitors and others about the quality of local attractions. ‘Word of mouth’ promotion is an important way of encouraging new visitors and a significant number of people stay with locally based friends and relatives for a holiday in Dorset.

Each year, approximately 50 attractions and leisure centres from across the county take part in the promotion by offering ‘2 adults for the price of 1’, concessionary prices or special offers during the week.

Residents’ Week is promoted in the Spring edition of the ‘Your Dorset’ publication. Your Dorset is produced by Dorset County Council and is delivered to 200,000 homes in Dorset. The four page Residents’ Week feature includes details of all participating attractions and discounts offered, together with five vouchers for residents to use. Vouchers are also available to download from www.visit-dorset.com

Residents’ Week 2016 will be held from the 18th – 24th April.
