In 2011, the Visit Dorset tourism partnership produced a single Dorset Tourism Guide which aims to inspire visits to the area by showcasing all the county has to offer. The guide can be downloaded from visit-dorset.com in English, French and German.

West Dorset Visitor Guide
The 2016 West Dorset Visitor Guide is now available.  60,000 copies have been printed and will be promoted through our media campaign to promote the visit-dorset.com website and the guide.  The media campaign includes a mixture of lead generation and online activity.  100k full colour inserts promoting West Dorset were in the Sunday Times Magazine on 3rd January, offering readers the chance to win a 2 night break at The  Summer Lodge.  This gives West Dorset excellent brand awareness in a quality publication as well as generating contacts for our consumer database.

Christchurch and Rural Dorset Visitor Guide
The Christchurch & Rural Dorset Visitor Guide is produced by the Christchurch Borough Council and East Dorset District Council Partnership and features the areas of Wimborne, Blandford, Shaftesbury, Highcliffe, Mudeford, Burton and Hurn.

This leaflet, which is produced by the West Dorset District Council and Weymouth & Portland Borough Council Shared Services Partnership in collaboration with the Thomas Hardy Society, aims to help visitors explore parts of Dorset which inspired Thomas Hardy throughout his lifetime. It includes a trail which links together where he lived, the towns and villages he wrote about and the church where his heart is buried. The leaflet also highlights where several major TV and film adaptations of Hardy’s novels have been filmed in the area.

Cycling leaflets
These include a guide to the two National Cycle Network routes 2 & 26, designed to help you pedal and eat your way around West Dorset's beautiful landscape and discover our delicious local produce along the way.
